Jeff Barnes joined our Chapter after seeing the devastation brought on by Hurricane Katrina. He was one of the first volunteers to deploy and, after his return he joined the Bryan County DAT team and quickly rose to the rank of captain.

Jeff has shown amazing leadership in motivating and growing his team to excel in fulfilling the Red Cross mission in disaster relief. He’s a team player who is always available to lend his support, whether in responding to disasters with the Rapid Deployment team or networking with county officials.

It is this teamwork and his remarkable leadership skills that make Jeff this year’s DAT Team Captain of the Year!
