GENERAL FOCUS • Home fires affect Americans from all backgrounds and geographic location...
American Red Cross ”Adopt A Family”  Click for Whole Story
You may be surprised to learn that...home fires kill more Americans each year than all other disasters combined! Our Chapter spends approximately $1,000 per fire to help a family of four. Within the past 12 months, our Chapter has spent over $200,000 in assistance to fire victims. Home fires are known as the ”silent” disaster. Individual tragedies do not receieve as much media attention as large scale national disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and tsunamies. But, the victims of home fires are just as traumatized, just as displaced and just as in need of our help.
